They have different reviewers with VASTLY different tastes, and that's just how it goes.
This is also the same site that gave God Hand a 3/10, and that is by far the best brawler I've ever played. A review is an opinon, nothing more.
Afrika is a VERY niche-market game, and honestly I'm shocked it even made it to the states, where we're obsessed with action and constant stimulation. I personally might give this game a rent, but that would be the extent of it.
....people are still playing Warhawk?
Could've fooled me, everytime I'm on there there's virtually no one on. Maybe that's changed with the release of the slim...I should check.
Everyone's acting like Trent Reznor is still culturally significant.
NIN was very significant in the 90's, but that's about as far as it goes.
Basically, anyone who thinks Trent Reznor is the voice of what's right and wrong, or is this generation's Beatles if you will....you need to put away your cassette tapes, wash your hair, pitch that flannel shirt tied around your waist and get a job.
....and say, pretty much yeah, I think the guy is total scum.
I realize that the matter of money is essential to the maintaining and survival of video games altogether, but does that neccesitate becoming a contender for "Biggest Douche in the Universe"? I seriously think Kotick has what it takes to unseat John Edward for this coveted title.
All the while, I realize that he has investors that expect results, but to instill fear and lack of vision into h...
...this is simply taking advantage of those who aren't as familiar with technological common sense as most of us.
I remember being a computer salesperson at CompUSA back in 1999-2000, and our tech counter guys did nothing but prey on people who feared the dreaded "Y2K", and charged them $149 to "Y2K-proof" their new computer that I sold them at an already outrageous price.
Not to mention some of the other highway-robbery fees they charged:

The closest thing we've got to this out in IL is Disc Replay, but this puts just about any classic game store to shame.
And with a name like "Super Potato", you know it's gonna be an awesome store
...but I wasn't about to let some amateur on Craigslist "fix" my PS3 for $100.
You take a real risk letting an independent person fix your console. In the event that this person can't fix your console (and according to this show more than a few of the PS3s their "engineers" fixed, broke again within a few days), you risk Sony just flat-out refusing to fix it because it was tampered with.
....especially to the BBC and the show's producers.
This show's general environment reminds me of Fox News.
EDIT: "Self proclaimed Xbox Man?....writes a segment for Microsoft"?
Way to shoot your credibility in the balls.
....and he also thinks that since the PS3 price did in fact drop, that he has some pull within the corporate gaming world (at least outside his company).
I'm surprised he hasn't opened his mouth yet claiming that Sony dropped their price only because he said so.
This guy is 100% corporate douche. He's the villain in all those 80's movies where some poor rag-tag group of kids are getting their small-but-genuine youth center or whatever shut down by the greedy fat...
...it's also good to see how it really happened from a Sega executive's viewpoint. I've always heard that internal power struggles is what was the Dreamcast's undoing, and this just confirms it. It's so sad to know that a great system died an unneccessary death, and it's always the coporate reason of "We wanted to take the company in a different direction", which is corporate-speak for: "We hate our customers and wanted to show our thanks by taking your hard-earned money and ...
....when it shows up on IGN, Gamespot, or Kotaku...then I MIGHT just believe it, but until then....knock off the nonsense.
Not to mention I've NEVER even seen this site before, so I'm instantly calling it bullsh!t to the highest degree until a major site confirms it...how in the hell did this make it past approval?
....and it's infecting America on all fronts.
I've have been a LIFELONG gamer. Literally, by the time I was 3, my brothers and I had an Atari 2600 and an NES, been playing ever since. And yes, I play quite a bit, but I also know when to put the controller down and go to bed, go to work, and spend time with my wife.
There is no real illness here. It's simply a way to place blame on something else and shun personal responsiblity because that's the American way n...
People are b!tching about where the cursor starts at on the PS3 startup?
When does it end? Oh I know, maybe a year or two from now....when a grown man is sitting on the crapper waiting for someone to wipe his ass for him....he however saw fit to bring his laptop in the room with him so he can blog about how physically exhausting it is to roll up some paper and reach all the way back there to wipe. God forbid he pulls a muscle doing it.
Humanity sucks that much ...
....why isn't this called Postal Forever? It's been in development for years now and it seems like most of the work is still in it's infancy.
And the whole peeing and female screams I don't think are being taken out of Postal 3, screams were taken out of the british verison of Postal 1 and they only said peeing was an issue in Postal 2. It'll really suck if they take that out considering the only real laughs I got out of P2 was lighting someone on fire and then clumsily tryin...
I seriously try not to sell my games, but truth be told once I pay my $60 or so for a new game it becomes MINE! To do with as I please.
One thing devs seem to forget is that every used game was at one point a new game, and every used game is in fact a SOLD New game.
As for Jaffe, I'd like to think he's above getting into futile arguments with people whose entire reputations and social lives lie within the internet of all god-awful places, but then again I rememb...
Go physical media!!
I will never, ever buy a system that does DD only!! You got that, Sony? I love your PS3, no doubt about it, but if you do to the Playstation what you did to the PSP, I will never buy from you ever again.
The same goes for all the other brands that pull that crap too.
It's a very fun game, would further validate the neccesity of PSN, and if it were in fact to come to the dark side, it might come with a few improvements and extras.
....you try to introduce a Chinese format in America, then you risk Glenn Beck coming over, calling you a communist and then kicking you in the nuts.
Sadly, I wouldn't put it past him to REALLY do something like that.
Wow....this was literally one of the only games I bothered to get off of XBL when I still had my 360,...that and Dishwasher: Dead Samurai <---super awesome
But now I am no longer a sad panda (and one less reason for me to re-buy a 360).
Considering I'm tapped out between buying Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2, this game is getting the rental treatment.
I played the demo, and I know how this goes. The game will have a great story with great voice acting, but the gameplay just screams tedious, and the attack combos are lacking a lot of fluidity (which for some reason has always been a huge problem with me).
I can see myself playing it once and never touching it again afterwards
